Weekend in Photos
We had a fairly busy weekend, and the digital camera was handy, so I thought I’d document the weekend in pictures:

Fire in the Field
On Friday, there was a fire in the field across the creek from our house. We called 911 but apparently someone else had called already. Almost immediately we heard sirens.

Firemen working on it.
Soon the fire department had extinguished it. Beautiful black scorched earth remained.
Cutting Up Wood
Yesterday, we cut up the wood from the trees we pruned last weekend. The trees hadn’t been pruned in maybe 10 years, so there were some limbs almost 6″ diameter. Mike ran the chainsaw and Tate stacked the wood.
Last weekend: Me pruning trees.
This weekend: Cutting up the wood.
Needless to say, Tate was pretty proud of her wall of wood.

Hike #1: Devil’s Courthouse
Today we went on a couple little hikes. The first was called The Devil’s Courthouse:

You can see our van in the parking lot below.

Amanda about to fall asleep.
Me, Abby, Mike, and Tate go exploring.
The girl’s walking sticks that we made from the trees we pruned last weekend.
I showed Tate how to pick crevices to climb rocks. She didn’t think she could do it at first …

But she did! And she celebrates!

Hike #2: Graveyard Fields Trail

The water isn’t even cold – according to Abby.
Rock hopping.

Cool waterfalls.

Nice to see the family enjoying life in the new home state. Give my love to Amanda and the kids Don.

Cool!! I’ll bet everyone is tired today.
I’m so jealous….Icould picture all of us hiking
and enjoying the nature. One of these days….
makes me want to be up there instead of here
trying to find a buyer for our house…know anybody!!!
Those girls seem to be expert hikers now. I agree with Abby… hiking is the best! Looks like you’re having so much fun. YAY!
