Personal site. Pretty self-explanatory, right? Pictures of kids, random Asheville stuff, and occasional personal rants.

I live in Asheville, NC. I’m a dad. I am also a web programmer, blog owner, local blogger, news junkie and connoisseur of only the finest bathroom humor (my resume is here). Outdoors is fun: hiking, climbing, taking my girls to hunt down cool waterfalls and such. Books are cool. So are movies. I occasionally write, record, or play music with guys like Matthew, or Chris and a few others.

I like running. I ran a couple marathons about 4 years ago. I need to get back on that …

Simple Recent Comments
Displays the seven most recent comments on the site. I modified the plug-in slightly, and you can see the results on the right side of this page.

Subscribe To Comments
This allows you to check a box at the bottom of your comment to let you know (via email) if someone responded to your comment.

WP Contact Form
Handles the contact form on Makoviney.com

Now Reading
One of the coolest little plug-ins that allows me to keep track of my book reading. It makes me feel all smart and stuff when I look back on it and see the books I’ve read.

Akismet
Kickin plug-in to battle comment spam.

BDP Move Comments
For some reason people occasionally post their comment on the wrong post. This makes it quick and easy to move the comment to the correct post.

Google News Snippets
The “Newsyness” items on the right hand side of this page are taken from my personal newsreader. I use Googl Reader and they provide this really cool way for you (er … me) to share funny and/or interesting news items.

If you are a news junkie you owe it to yourself to familiarize yourself with the newsreader concept.

Once you’ve done that, I suggest getting a Google Account and activating your Google Reader.
