Road Trip Day 5: Jacksonville, Texas to Nacogdoches, Texas to Memphis, Tennessee

Today we continued our trek to Nacogdoches. This was the place where dad’s grandfather lived before he moved to San Diego and met his wife – which would be my dad’s grandmother.

Road Trip Day 4: El Paso to Jacksonville, Texas

We set out this morning hoping to get to Austin, Texas. We were greeted by a beautiful sunrise.

Road Trip Day 3: Yuma, AZ to El Paso, TX

In Yuma we stayed at Uncle Jim and Aunt Sandy’s place. I knew that living in South Florida we had some unique architecture – but I was unprepared for the uniqueness of Arizona. It was REALLY cool.

Road Trip Day 2: Fresno to Yuma via Tehachapi

After our continental breakfast at Comfort Inn (free high speed wireless you know!) we refueled and began the trip through Bakersfield to Tehachapi.

As a kid I always wanted to see the Tehachapi Loop in Tehachapi California.

Road Trip Day 1: Shelton to Fresno

Left about 5:30 am and stopped at the Country Cousin in Centralia for breakfast. We got caught in a terrible traffic jam all through Portland which set us back on our average speed. But we soon broke free.

Road Trip: Washington Arrival

Arrived in Seattle last night. My dad picked me up in the truck we will be driving to Asheville. I’ve been driving it around town and love it. Looking forward to putting it through its paces as we head across the country.

Road Trip: Intro

I am bringing my laptop on the trip with me as my dad and I hit the road. I bought my Grandpa’s truck and we are going to drive it across the country back to my house.
